I helped coordinate the branding, promotion, layout of the exhibition, materials for the showcase (i.e. technology, tables, vinyl decal), and more for the gallery exhibition.
The Objective:
The main objective of this capstone was to create a UI/UX app that incorporated both co-design and human-centered design methods into the design thinking process. It was essential to have the feedback of users and the wants/needs of the users incorporated into the app’s functions and purpose. Embark is a helpful traveling app for amateur travelers looking to create safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experiences.

The Approach:
My research found that travel trips can often be the most stressful part of the traveling process. A Harvard Business Review study found that 74% of their participants found that the most stressful aspect of travel was planning and figuring out the details. I found that often there could be miscommunications and misunderstandings of accessibility for either transportation or level of excursion for activities. Another inspiration was the TikTok trends of LGBTOIA+, BIPOC, and other minorities sharing their experiences and resources for traveling.

Considering the topic, I created a new brand identity, a travel planning app concept, a PR package, and an exhibition presentation. For the travel planning app, I set to simplify the process into three steps. Word-of-mouth marketing would be a supportive method for this type of brand, its audience, and its app concept. The package includes a variety of promotional samples for the brand, from a location book to collectible pins, a printed itinerary, and a unique package. It would be ideal to use social media influencers and travel blogs to send and promote the package too, as those were frequently visited by the audience. It could also be beneficial to form partnerships to create "guides" or preset travel itineraries based on their travels.
Process Work:

Research: Initial Survey
This survey collected 28 different responses. The main purpose of this survey was to get the initial idea pertaining to the target audiences' already formed travel behaviors, preferences, and perceptions.
Research: Peer Interviews
In order to expand upon the initial survey, I used peer interviews to get a better insight into individuals' travel behaviors, planning routines, travel habits, and more. These interviews helped to form the new travel planning process.
App Research: Co-Design Sessions
